Welcome to Schofield family history – a Leeds family

My story begins in the 19th century with the SCHOFIELD family who were market gardeners, seedsmen and florists. The website is a ‘work in progress’ and more details will be added.

Market gardener William SCHOFIELD  married Mary UTTLEY in 1828. They lived at Park Cottage, Kirkstall, in Leeds West Yorkshire, a few doors away from St Stephen’s church. Their 7 children were –

William Schofield, Sarah Ann Goodson, Isabella Boswell, Mary Uttley Barker, Jabez Charles Schofield, Charlotte Elizabeth Schofield & Walter Uttley Schofield.

William Schofield’s ancestors from Knostrop (Leeds) included: John Schofield, Jonathan Schofield & Mary (nee Pilkington), William & Elizabeth Pilkington.

Mary Uttley’s ancestors included: John Uttley & Isabella (nee Clark), Humphry & Isabella Clark from Cullercoats, Northumberland, Abraham Uttley from Heptonstall.
